SEVENTIES ROCK PRESERVATIONISTS
We have been working our butts off on the FREE tribute set that we plan to perform at three venues on the upcoming tour. In forming Stone Axe and writing the early songs, Free was my biggest influence and inspiration. It has been a real challenge to learn these ten songs and play them with feel and confidence.

first up in the new releases feature is STONE AXE CAPTURED LIVE! at Roadburn festival 2011. This release will be available on CD/LP. The LP has 9 blistering tracks from our set at the roadburn festival in Holland april 16th 2011. The CD has 4 extra tracks. Next up is the STONE AXE II deluxe 2 cd set. Ripple music has released the second installment of the STONE AXE re-issue series. Unlike the 2 disc STONE AXE I re-issue from last year this is a 2 CD set rather than a CD/DVD combo. For disc 2 of the set i compiled everything that has only been available on vinyl up to this point. Last but not least is the WIGHT/STONE AXE split 12". This split is an interesting departure for Stone Axe. It marks the first studio recording that feature the whole live band. Taking from Wight's que, we set up at our studio and wrote and recorded 3 songs in 2 hours. All of the live track were kept and then vocals and keyboards were added to give a nice spacey feel to the songs. We feel like the sounds range from soundtrack-era pink floyd to iron butterfly. It was a treat for us to do. check out Wight and fat & holy records.
